GlobeScreen Shorts: New Festival Date & Call for Entries

GlobeScreen has announced a new festival date of Thursday August 6, for GlobeScreen Shorts Festival, at Curzon Sea Containers in London, UK. We are also extending our Call for Entries deadline to Friday, 29 May.

GlobeScreen Shorts welcomes submissions from filmmakers across Europe and beyond! 6 shorts will be accepted by the industry jury, to be announced in the official selection, in July. Edoardo Pinto Bonomo joins GlobeScreen UK

We were pleased to welcome Edoardo Pinto Bonomo onto our London based team at the beginning of the year, as a Programming Manager. Working closely with our Managing Director, Dara Naficy, and Senior Programming Manager, Amir Rashidian, he will manage filmmaker submissions for the upcoming GlobeScreen Shorts Film Festival, currently scheduled for 6 August, in London.

He is currently completing an MA in Marketing & Distribution at the NFTS (National Film & Television School), in the UK. His prior experience includes roles at notable entertainment companies such as Mubi UK in London and Fremantle Media in Rome.

GlobeScreen Shorts Fest announces Jury

We are pleased to announce the industry jury for the inaugural GlobeScreen Shorts Festival, launching at Curzon Sea Containers in London, this summer: Entertainment One’s Kezia Williams, who will also serve as Jury President, ODEON Cinemas’ Tanya Easterman and Clarisse Loughrey, Chief Film Critic, at The Independent.

During the festival don’t miss the Meet the Jury Q&A, moderated by Clarisse Loughrey, where the jury will shed some light on the decision making behind the selection of the filmmaker finalists.

12th GlobeScreen LA: Conference announced

Join us at W. Hotel West Beverly Hills for the 12th GlobeScreen LA: Conference and hear from Film & Television executives as they debate the latest industry trends in 2020!

5pm: Small Media XL Owners, Don Downie & Stacie Capone chat to GlobeScreen’s Dara Naficy and share with attendees how their company’s approach to development allows them to pursue projects in both feature film and advertising production.

5:30pm: Jennifer Ajemian Casting Owner, Jennifer Peralta-Ajemian, shares with GlobeScreen’s Chris Oglio the latest developments concerning the projects her company is casting this year and also the kind of talent that directors are looking for.

Introducing GlobeScreen Shorts Festival

We’re pleased to announce our inaugural GlobeScreen Shorts Festival, taking place this summer at Curzon Cinema at Sea Containers Hotel, in London. Call for Entries, via FilmFreeway is now open, through Thursday May 29. A Jury announcement will be made next month and we have some exciting industry veterans confirmed as jurors, to be announced soon.

Taking place on Thursday 6 August, the festival will be welcoming submissions from short filmmakers across Europe and beyond. 6 Finalists will be accepted. Participating filmmakers will have the opportunity to win one of four awards: ‘best short’, ‘cinematography’, ‘editing’, and ‘sound’. And don’t forget our ‘Meet the Jury Q&A’, also taking place at the festival.

11th GlobeScreen London Conference announced

Line-up for 11th GlobeScreen Conference London, at May Fair Hotel, has been announced! GlobeScreen returns to London on Wednesday 27th November! This year attendees gain insight from executives and producers on the latest trends in film development, theatrical marketing in the UK and how cinemas are faring in a changing landscape for the media and entertainment industries.

Amir Rashidian appointed Programming Manager

We are pleased to appoint Amir Rashidian to the newly created role of Programming Manager, based in our London office. He will work alongside Dara Naficy, Managing Director, on delegate registration, marketing and venue coordination for our UK conferences, this year and next.

GlobeScreen is hosting a new conference in London in late November. Speaker line-up and further details will be announced in November.
