GlobeScreen Fest: Meet the Jury!
We are pleased to announce the industry jury for the inaugural GlobeScreen Shorts Festival, launching in June.
GlobeScreen Shorts welcomes submissions from short filmmakers across Europe and beyond. 8 finalists will be selected and eligible to win one of four awards: ‘best short’, ‘cinematography’, ‘editing’ and ‘sound’.
During the festival, don’t miss an exclusive Meet the Jury Q&A, moderated by Clarisse Loughrey, Chief Film Critic at The Independent. The jury will shed some light on the decision-making process behind the selection of the finalists.
Call for Entries will end on Thursday 30th April, so stay ahead of the deadline, to ensure your short is considered.

12 GlobeScreen LA: Conference announced!
Join us at the 12th GlobeScreen LA: Conference and hear from Film & Television executives as they debate the latest industry trends in 2020!

5pm: Small Media XL Owners, Don Downie & Stacie Capone chat to GlobeScreen’s Dara Naficy and share with attendees how their company’s approach to development allows them to pursue projects in both feature film and advertising production!

Introducing GlobeScreen Shorts Festival
We’re pleased to announce our inaugural GlobeScreen Shorts Festival, taking place this summer in the new Curzon Cinema at Sea Containers Hotel, in London. Call for Entries, via FilmFreeway is now open, through Thursday April 30. A Jury announcement will be made next month and we have some exciting industry personalities lined up as jurors.
Taking place on Monday 8 June, the festival will be welcoming submissions from short filmmakers across Europe and beyond. 8 Finalists will be accepted. Our veteran Jury, time permitting, will mentor the filmmaking careers of each finalist. Participating filmmakers will also have the opportunity to win one of four awards: ‘best short’, ‘cinematography’, ‘editing’, and ‘sound’.

11th GlobeScreen London Conference announced
Line-up for 11th GlobeScreen Conference London, at May Fair Hotel, has been announced! GlobeScreen returns to London on Wednesday 27th November! This year attendees gain insight from executives and producers on the latest trends in film development, theatrical marketing in the UK and how cinemas are faring in a changing landscape for the media and entertainment industries.

Amir Rashidian appointed Programming Manager
We are pleased to appoint Amir Rashidian to the newly created role of Programming Manager, based in our London office. He will work alongside Dara Naficy, Managing Director, on delegate registration, marketing and venue coordination for our UK conferences, this year and next.
GlobeScreen is hosting a new conference in London in late November. Speaker line-up and further details will be announced in November.
GlobeScreen opens London Office
In anticipation of its next UK conference launching at the end of this year, GlobeScreen has opened a London office. Our LA office has closed as of June 1.
We will continue operating our US conferences – GlobeScreen NY in October 2019 and GlobeScreen LA in March 2020, from the London office.

Naficy Pictures rebrands as GlobeScreen
Building on over a decade of success in the conferences space, Naficy Pictures is rebranding under the name of its events service, GlobeScreen. GlobeScreen has operated film industry conferences since 2009, in London, New York, and now Los Angeles, where it will host the 11th Annual GlobeScreen Conference, in March.
GlobeScreen has hosted dozens of renowned entertainment industry producers and executives at its conferences, from companies such as Magnolia Pictures, IFC Films, FilmNation Entertainment, UK Film Council and Ingenious Media.
During the 10th Annual GlobeScreen Conference in New York last year, former Focus Features CEO, and Academy Award nominated Producer, James Schamus, spoke to IndieWire, in a keynote, during the 10th anniversary celebration of the event.
Leading the new company will be the former management team of Naficy Pictures. Dara Naficy, Managing Director, is relocating from LA to London, opening an office for GlobeScreen UK. Christopher Oglio, Executive Director, remains based in New York, overseeing development and operations for GlobeScreen US.

4th Annual GlobeScreen Conference line-up announced
GlobeScreen returns to its current venue, the May Fair Hotel on November 20th. Two panels commented on the current state of film financing in the UK and remarked on future prospects.
Speakers included Producers Paul Webster, Stephen Evans, Richard Holmes and Neil Thompson, executives from various film financiers, Nik Bower of Ingenious Media and James Swarbrick of the Aegis Film Fund. Also speaking was Producer Kami Naghdi, then partner at law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP.

GlobeScreen Conference launches in London
Taking place at London’s May Fair Hotel on November 17th, the conference launched with a discussion about the growing popularity of digital cinema amongst both exhibitors and the theatre-going public.
Arts Alliance Media’s first CEO, Howard Kiedaisch, keynoted on recent developments in this part of the industry and then joined a panel discussion with industry peers including Merchant Ivory’s former Head of North America, Pierre Proner and the UK Film’s Council’s then Senior Distribution and Exhibition Executive, Alex Stolz.
